Toxic Valley is a web based investigative research and cartographic visualisation project which traces industry settlements’ impact on Turkey’s environment and public health. We created a map displaying the inclination of a landscape: The calculation of the river flow direction and the potential spread of pollution over the stretch of water. The project was realised in collaboration with research by Zeynep Şentek, Craig Shaw from The Black Sea⤷.
In Culture Inventory Atlas, there are nearly 15.000 cultural entities and artefacts marked and classified in a digital cartographic database. We created a website with a search engine and filtered map by entity group, type and location. The user can rediscover cultural properties by examining its historical information and original location. Originated in the geographic region of the Middle East, Anatolia, and the Balkan, the aim is to create an international and open source cultural property database.
Data Platform for the Environmental Activism is a digital mapping project displaying environmental conflicts. Drawing upon relational visualisation of the responsible actors, impacts and commodities, the aim is to build a solidarity data platform for environmental activism.
